Coats for the Cold

This winter season we are proud to join the Reno Sparks Corridor Business Association and the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, in their efforts to bring some much needed warmth to the people in our community who are in need. Bring down any clean gently used coat to either Eternal Snowboard Shop (Reno or Sparks) and we will give you a 10% discount on any 2012 outerwear, with your donation. Please bring down any size coat, kids or adult.

If you are in the market for a new jacket make sure your old one goes to someone who needs it. And don’t worry if you do not need new gear we will still gladly take your used jackets and donate them to this great cause, and you can go home with a warm fuzzy feeling in your heart free of charge.

Thank you from all of us at Eternal.
P.S. be sure to tell your friends.

*The donation of your coat is your 10% off coupon. Purchase must be made at time of donation. No rain checks on discounts.

Artec is Art Fused with Technology

Artec aims to fuse art with technology. Artec has been thriving overseas since 2007 and now they aim to blow up in the states. Artec has a truly global team of some really innovative riders, with the likes of Nima Jalali, Gabe Taylor and Lisa Filzmoser. Artec also employs some true legends of snowboarding including Blaise Rosenthal, Artec Creative Director.

Artec is focused on creating some of the best freestyle snowboards out on the snow. Manufacturing for Artec Snowboards is located high in the Austrian Alps, at the famed Elan snowboard factory. The Elan factory is home to some of the most advanced snowboard manufacturing processes in the world. In fact this is home to the manufacturing of many brands in the industry.  Artec’s state of the art manufacturing facility has been producing snowboards for over 20 years, and they put out some of the highest quality boards on the market today.

Spending some time flexing and touching these Artec Snowboards and bindings you start to get a sense of the high grade materials that they are using. Artec is offering a core profile to suite any riding style. The Pop Rocker offers what they call PopTEC, which is basically a jib rocker that has a real skate inspired feel. The Nima Jalali offers FlaTEC which is a flat core profile. Flat profiles are picking up in popularity because they have traits of both camber and rocker. Flat boards will hold speed and have the pop of a camber board but also have a loose feel similar to a rocker board. The Gabe Taylor Artec is a ture camber snowboard. This is great for high speeds and big jumps. Gabe spends a lot of time out in the backcountry and this board holds up to his demands.

The Artec Nima Jalali is definitely on the hit list to try out when the snow hits (hope fully soon). We will bring you a product review of Artec as soon as we can get on one. Visit Artec’s website to get the nitty gritty on all of their technologies.

Premiere #3 in da Books!

Our third snowboard movie premiere of the year at the Freight House District was wild. Technine and the boys from FODT know how to party. Stars of Familia 2 Andrew Brewer, Jake Devine, Mark Frank Montoya, Dylan Thompson and  Cole Talylor all showed up to mingle and party with the fans.

Everyone is ready to shred

Boreal brought down a box and a rail for all the kids who wanted to show off. We had an Am Jam contest with celebrity judge Andrew Brewer. All of about 30 entries were just happy to drop in and get a quick fix of snowboarding before the season starts. The field was mostly guys but there were two girls representing, and there was even one skier. We definitely had some good riding and some good spills going down. In the end Bryce Salazar won a brand new Banshee Bungee, so he can continue to perfect urban rails.

Afterwards, the movies began with Givin “One.” Givin is a new production company Formed by snowboarder Keegan Valaika and Cinematographer Aaron Hooper, their goal is to create snowboard movies for snowboarders, by showing a combination of snowboarding and the snowboarding lifestyle. “One” had a really fun feel in addition to some great riding.

Represent for the ladies

Of course we had to do some product tossin’ and a raffle to hook up all the kids. We even auctioned of Eternal cover boy Andrew Brewer for a date to the highest bidder, which was $70.  Lucky gal!

Autograph session

When it was time for “Familia 2” by Finger On Da Trigger, everyone was amped. This flick was packed with some of the most progressive urban snowboarding ever. Plus this movie features two of Eternal’s heavy hitters, Andrew Brewer and Jake Devine, both of which were on hand to sign autographs.

MFM on the 1's and 2's

We went straight from movie premiere to after party with Kreayshawn headlining the night.

A full house at the Freight House

It was a whirlwind event for sure. I think we are all ready for some real snow to hit. All these premieres have got me amped. Good thing we only have one more to go, the Forum movie “Vacation.” Check out more pictures from the night on our Facebook.

Special thanks go out to Andrew Brewer, Jake Devine, Mark Frank Montoya, Dylan Thompson, Cole Talylor, Sean Sullivan, Johnny Lazz, Zander Blackmon, Joshua Parker, DJ, John Scott, Ryan Reidel and the entire Freight House Crew, Lane Knack, Technine, Nomis, Paul Perez from Skullcandy, Kristian Walters. Most of all we want to thank all everyone who strapped in for the rail jam. For next year we will be thinking bigger and better.

Rail Jam, Familia 2 and Kreayshawn!

Alright this is going to be big. Saturday night October 15th Eternal will be putting on our third snowboard movie premiere of the season. Finger On Da Trigger will present “Familia 2,” the highly anticipated follow up to “Familia.” We are extra stoked cause Eternal and Technine snowboards team members Andrew Brewer and Jake Devine both star in this movie. But the movie is only a small piece of what we have planned for you all.

Familia Premeire

We are going to kick off the night with an armature rail jam open to anyone who wants to throw down. Boreal will be helping us out and they are bringing down one of their expert built rails. It’s a great excuse to dust off your snowboard gear and Febreze out your stinky boots.

After the rail jam there will be an autograph signing, and there will be too many riders on hand to mention. Then the movies will begin with Givin’s movie “One” and then FODT’s “Familia 2.”

Since it is Saturday and we don’t want to go home, Kreayshawn will be playing us some party music all the way until Sunday.

Get your tickets in advance for $10 at Eternal. Tickets at the door are $15.

Be there!
