Big Bear Cruzin with Jake Devine
Jake Devine and Mike Burton do some cruzin down at Bear Mountain in California. Peep it!
Catching up with Josh Douglas
Josh has been one busy little dude this season. This season he is hitting the competition circuit hard. He has made a big commitment by bringing on a private coach, Shawn Craddick, retired pro-snowboarder and local Tahoe legend. Josh is super stoked and having fun with Shawn, not to mention learning a lot. And so far it seems to be paying off big.
Josh took 1st place at the Volcom Peanut Butter and Rail Jam at both Sierra at Tahoe and Mammoth Mountain (15 and under group). He even scored an interview with fuel TV. But Josh didn’t stop there he has been competing in the Tahoe region USASA events as well and dominating with a USASA Rail Jam 1st place and two more USASA Slope Style 1st places.
Josh is tearing it up right now working on a back 10 for Gatorade Free Flow this weekend. He is also stepping up to the open division. He has landed a few cork 9′s this past weekend for USASA in slope style. So he is excited to throw down this weekend.
Be sure to keep up to date with Josh. His coach, Shawn Craddick, posts all sorts of pictures of Joshua on Facebook and the Boreal Blog. Josh also would like to thank Volcom and Eternal for all of their support this season.
Catching up with Andy Blanchard
I thought we were off to a strong start to the season when I was riding 2 feet of pow on Mt. Rose on Oct. 6th. Well that is not the case. It has been dry in Tahoe.
Despite the lack of snow both Northstar and Boreal have been doing what they can to throw a good park together. Lots of snowmaking has been going down and Northstar was able to throw up 36 features and a triple jump line. It has warmed up since then and it feels like spring right now.
Filming has been tricky with small jumps and no snow so I have plans for a few trips to Utah and Colorado. The parks are still fun and we are making the best of it. So until it snows again I will enjoy sunny park laps with good friends.

This season the Tahoe area has been slow to start but snow is on the way. Even with the lack of snow the Eternal Team has been staying busy. Let’s see what Fancy has been up to:
Well what can I say; the snowfall in Tahoe has been less than amazing this year. However I have been making the best of it, riding a lot of park and praying for snow. Without a doubt Boreal has the best park around and have been spending a lot of time up there.
We were invited to make an edit in this year’s Boreal Team Video Challenge. We had a blast filming our movie “Laced” up at Boreal, for which I was awarded Standout Female! In the end the overall winner was Jibles and Bits with Eternal teammates, Jake Devine and Brendan Gerard.
Thanks Boreal and Snowboarder Mag for all your hard work!
Photographer, Ben Birk, has been at Boreal capturing the action. You can check some shots out on Transworld Snowboarding, where there is some great shots of Fancy, Jake Devine and Brendan Gerard.
January 7th we all headed up to Sierra at Tahoe for the first stop of this year’s Volcom Peanut Butter and Rail Jam. Even with a lack of snow Sierra still managed to build a sweet course that was challenging and fun. The ladies field was really competitive and all the girls were killing it. The event had a really good vibe! I placed 2nd and will be going to Mammoth in April for the $20,000 finals.
Pray For snow !!!!
