Well for most of us around the country this was a rough winter. Here in the Tahoe area we certainly had a dry winter, but thankfully it started snowing in March! We had a handful of healthy storms and there is even some coming our way this week in the middle of April. Eternal team rider Jake Devine was able to get out and enjoy this Miracle March!

With blacked out passes and tourist invasions, President’s Day Weekend leaves many snowboarders in the Reno/Tahoe area with limited riding options, often stuck at home waiting for the long weekend to pass. This year however, good friend and Reno’s own build-to-shred expert, DJ Minsart and team member Wade Godi gathered the team and friends to build a mini park of their own to shred. Loaded with 4 rails hand-crafted by DJ himself, a BBQ and a few cameras, the crew met at the Summit to set up a park run for everyone to ride.
After a quick hour of set up, the rest of the day was open to shred the hand-built park.
In the midst of a banger session, Ranger Rick stopped by to admire the set up and check on us. After a quick reminder to clean up after ourselves, we had the go ahead to keep riding.
As the sun grew further West, it was time to pack it up. With 20 to 30 heads to help, the area was packed up in minutes. If you’re looking for features like these to have at your own disposal, DJ is the man to contact, willing to make any custom feature you can think of. Turned out to be a very successful day where no one had to spend money or battle long lift lines to shred!

Eternal’s very own Chas Guldemond was crowned TTR Slopestyle World Champion in Oslo, Norway this past weekend. The TTR World Snowboard Championships were held for the first time this year and will not be held again for three more years. “That’s the first time I’ve landed a switch back 1260..” Chas on his winning run. Chas through down a pretty heavy winning run which started with a frontside blunt 270 out to a frontside boardslide 450 out, switch backside 1260, backside 1080, tailpress to backside 180 and ended with a huge Cab 1260. Check the winning run out here.
This was a big win for Chas. Chas’ contest season got off to a slow start. He had some board issues at the X Games and was unable to make the finals. But he kept his head in the game and headed to Calgary for the 5 Star Burton Canadian Open where he turned the page for his contest season and took home the win and a big confidence boost. This is his winning run.
Chas then headed straight to Sapporo for the Toyota Big Air in the Sapporo Dome where he battled through the rounds taking home 2nd place in front of wild crowd of 35,000 screaming Japanese fans.
From Japan Chas got straight on a flight to The World Snowboarding Championships in Oslo missing a few days of practice and having to go straight into competition. Chas made it through qualifiers and semi finals and ended up winning the first ever World Snowboarding Championships!!!!
CONGRATULATIONS CHAS!! All Hale The World Champ!!!!!!!!
