So the weather has been pretty bunk in Tahoe obviously. I finished up working on our entry for the Boreal Team Video Challenge, which our team of Jake Devine, Andrew Brewer, Danyale Patterson, and I have won.

I headed down to LA to shoot a new ad campaign for Sabre Eyewear. That went great, we shot it on the beach in Venice, no complaints. Following the shoot I headed over to COMUNE clothing companies’ Drop City artist premiere always a good time.

After a little SoCal sun I headed back north and then a little east over to Colorado to visit the fam in Summit County. We definitely did some family shredding and I struggled to keep up with my 11-year old freakishly good brother Red.

Click here to view the embedded video.

My close friend Ryan Scardigli called me up Christmas day and said he was coming into town to do a story for Method Magazine and Snowboarding Australia on urban snowboarding around Denver. So we spent the next week really cracking trying to get some content together and had a lot of success thanks to the help of locals Brendan Barry, John Hill, Jackson Fowler, and Billy Mackey. Our productive crew got a little too productive and found ourselves in Clear Creek County Jail for a couple nights. It was a surprisingly hospitable experience.

Brendan's Mom doesn't want her baby in the clink

Anyhow, lots of mischief and mayhem in between and plenty of more to come!

Words by Brendan Gerard

On Saturday, Dec. 31, Northstar at Tahoe has slated to open the Shaun White Superpipe. 22 foot walls are beckoning. The pipe even has a new home higher up the mountain, to take advantage of a better pitch and colder conditions, on Logger’s Loop. It looks like a lot of fun and if it is good enough for Shaun White then it is almost good enough for me. See you out there.

Our third snowboard movie premiere of the year at the Freight House District was wild. Technine and the boys from FODT know how to party. Stars of Familia 2 Andrew Brewer, Jake Devine, Mark Frank Montoya, Dylan Thompson and Cole Talylor all showed up to mingle and party with the fans.

Everyone is ready to shred

Boreal brought down a box and a rail for all the kids who wanted to show off. We had an Am Jam contest with celebrity judge Andrew Brewer. All of about 30 entries were just happy to drop in and get a quick fix of snowboarding before the season starts. The field was mostly guys but there were two girls representing, and there was even one skier. We definitely had some good riding and some good spills going down. In the end Bryce Salazar won a brand new Banshee Bungee, so he can continue to perfect urban rails.

Rail Jammin

Afterwards, the movies began with Givin “One.” Givin is a new production company Formed by snowboarder Keegan Valaika and Cinematographer Aaron Hooper, their goal is to create snowboard movies for snowboarders, by showing a combination of snowboarding and the snowboarding lifestyle. “One” had a really fun feel in addition to some great riding.

Represent for the ladies

Of course we had to do some product tossin’ and a raffle to hook up all the kids. We even auctioned of Eternal cover boy Andrew Brewer for a date to the highest bidder, which was $70. Lucky gal!

Autograph session

When it was time for “Familia 2” by Finger On Da Trigger, everyone was amped. This flick was packed with some of the most progressive urban snowboarding ever. Plus this movie features two of Eternal’s heavy hitters, Andrew Brewer and Jake Devine, both of which were on hand to sign autographs.

MFM on the 1's and 2's

We went straight from movie premiere to after party with Kreayshawn headlining the night.

A full house at the Freight House

It was a whirlwind event for sure. I think we are all ready for some real snow to hit. All these premieres have got me amped. Good thing we only have one more to go, the Forum movie “Vacation.” Check out more pictures from the night on our Facebook.

Special thanks go out to Andrew Brewer, Jake Devine, Mark Frank Montoya, Dylan Thompson, Cole Talylor, Sean Sullivan, Johnny Lazz, Zander Blackmon, Joshua Parker, DJ, John Scott, Ryan Reidel and the entire Freight House Crew, Lane Knack, Technine, Nomis, Paul Perez from Skullcandy, Kristian Walters. Most of all we want to thank all everyone who strapped in for the rail jam. For next year we will be thinking bigger and better.

THANKS EVERYONE FOR COMING OUT!!

Alright this is going to be big. Saturday night October 15th Eternal will be putting on our third snowboard movie premiere of the season. Saturday night October 15th Eternal will be putting on our third snowboard movie premiere of the season. Finger On Da Trigger will present “Familia 2,” the highly anticipated follow up to “Familia.” We are extra stoked cause Eternal and Technine snowboards team members Andrew Brewer and Jake Devine both star in this movie. But the movie is only a small piece of what we have planned for you all.

We are going to kick off the night with an armature rail jam open to anyone who wants to throw down. Boreal will be helping us out and they are bringing down one of their expert built rails. It’s a great excuse to dust off your snowboard gear and Febreze out your stinky boots.

Click here to view the embedded video.

After the rail jam there will be an autograph signing, and there will be too many riders on hand to mention. Then the movies will begin with Givin’s movie “One” and then FODT’s “Familia 2.”

Since it is Saturday and we don’t want to go home, Kreayshawn will be playing us some party music all the way until Sunday.

Get your tickets in advance for $10 at either Eternal location (Sparks or Reno). Tickets at the door are $15.

Be there!

Another snowboard movie premiere is in the bag. Last Friday EternalSnow.com hosted the second of four big snowboard movie premiere nights at The Freight House District in Reno. The movie this time around was Captia’s “Defenders of Awesome,” and it was awesome. D.O.A. had great riding, great music, and a good mix of rails, jumps, and big mountain. There is some next level S*@! going down. I was ready to ride after watching Defenders of Awesome. Scott Stevens is insane. This movie is defiantly a must see for this year.

Product Toss for the kids!

Two of the guys from the movie, Brandon Cocard and Andrew Burns, made it out to sign some autographs and toss out some product. The whole nights proceeds went to an incredible local non-profit Project Snow. Project Snow thrives to provide and promote physical activity among foster youth living in Washoe County, ages 7-17 through snowboarding. They do great things for the community and we are more than happy to help them out.

Last Friday (September, 30) was Eternal’s first, in a series of four snowboard movie premieres at The Freight House District in Reno, NV. We kicked the evening off with a preseason Box Jam to get everyone into the right frame of mind, after spending the week in 90 degree temperatures. A thunder storm blew through, but it looked to me that everyone riding the box were just happy to have a snowboard on their feet and snow on the ground… or shaved ice anyways.

Brian Stevens - Eternal Staff 'aint scared

There were about 10-14 guys throwing nose presses, lip slides and I even saw some front flips out going down. I am sure it was a good warm up for everyone, especially since there is snow in the forecast.

A Packed Freight House

After the Box Jam we packed The Freight House full to watch “The Shred Remains” the latest movie from the Rome Snowboard team. The movie has more of a throwback feel of a crew getting together, making movies and having fun. There are no shots that would require 2 helicopters and an airplane here. It’s a good movie to pop in, get pumped, and go ride.

Rome Team

Of course we did some raffling and product toss. We were also lucky enough to get some posters, pictures and whatever else you had signed by Rome’s very own LNP, Jonny Lazz, Marie Hurcal, and Wade Goddi, in addition to Eternal team members Chas Guldemond and Andrew Brewer.

Chas Guldemond and Andrew Brewer

Then we partied into the night. Good movie, good friends, good times, that about sums it up.

A special thanks go out to: Ryan Reidel (Freight House District); Kristian Walters; Grady Skelton (Rome SDS); Ryan Roberts and DJ; and of course all of the kids who shredded and came out to get pumped up about snowboarding! Check out more pictures on our Facebook Page.

Next Friday October, 7th we will be premiering Capita’s movie “Defenders of Awesome” at The Freight House once again. See you there!

We are excited to have Eternal Team member Chas Guldemond join us at The Freight House District to sign some Neff posters on Friday, September 30th for our premiere of the Rome movie “The Shred Remains.” Chas also gave us an update of what he has been up to all summer:

“This summer has been the best summer I have had in a really long time. I feel like I have done every activity that was ever invented. It started out with a lot of shredding first in mammoth for two weeks and then ended in Mt hood for three weeks. It was so fun shredding mammoth unbound park and hanging out with the kids at High Cascade was epic! During those five weeks I filmed the last two episodes of Dropping in with Chas and they came out great!

After all the shred I wanted to just enjoy the heat of the summer. I had bought a boat this past winter so it was time to get a lot of use out of it! My wife and I went on camping trips with friends and had endless wakeskate and wakeboard sessions. Like every summer my dirt bikes got dirty pretty often, every day I got free time at home I ripped to the top of Peavine peak and romped around the sick trails! I must say that my favorite thing about the whole summer was making so many new friends. They have introduced me to so awesome new hobbies and to be quite honest I’m not ready for it to end.. I’m having to much fun!

Nevertheless The snowboard season is right around the corner and I’m going to the gym 6 days a week and skating as much as possible to get a strong as I can for the winter. Two more weeks to go then I’m back on snow! To get day to day updates check out my Facebook page at facebook.com/chuckg.tv or follow me on twitter at @chasguldemond.

Take care and see you on the slopes!”
