It Was A Good Day at Boreal: Ep. 2

We have been getting some spring like conditions up here in Tahoe, so it has been a lot of fun snowboarding out in the sun. Boreal has had their park in tip top condition all season long. Here is just a taste from Tanner Misono and a bunch of our friends, including Eternal Team Rider Ryland West on his Yes Snowboard.

Riders: Cameron St. Pierre, Kaleah Driscoll, Matty Britton, Sammy Spiteri, Colby Wrangler, Cache St. Pierre, Brenton Aikin, Shawn O’Neill, Alex Herrmann, and Ryland West

Brewer to coach at Woodward Tahoe

YouTube Preview Image

The Woodward building “aka The Bunker” is getting close to completion.  Master Builder Nate Wessel is currently on-site designing the interior, building ramps and seeing his vision come to life.  Boreal and their snow-making crew is also making a huge commitment by blowing as much snow as possible now so they can have snow sessions for summer camp.  The new Woodward Tahoe website has launched, and campers are already signing up.  Most importantly, the action sports community is taking notice of the happenings at Boreal and big pros are beginning to sign-on to be a part of Woodward Tahoe’s inaugural season. We are super excited as Eternal’s own Andrew Brewer is set to be the guest coach for Week #4 July 1-7.

This is going to be an exciting summer. You can find out more at Woodwardtahoe.com. In the mean time check out the teaser that they put together.

Catching up with Andy Blanchard

I thought we were off to a strong start to the season when I was riding 2 feet of pow on Mt. Rose on Oct. 6th.  Well that is not the case. It has been dry in Tahoe.

Andy Blanchard is HustlinDespite the lack of snow both Northstar and Boreal have been doing what they can to throw a good park together. Lots of snowmaking has been going down and Northstar was able to throw up 36 features and a triple jump line. It has warmed up since then and it feels like spring right now.

Andy riding the rainbowFilming has been tricky with small jumps and no snow so I have plans for a few trips to Utah and Colorado. The parks are still fun and we are making the best of it.  So until it snows again I will enjoy sunny park laps with good friends.

Catching up with Fancy Rutherford

This season the Tahoe area has been slow to start but snow is on the way. Even with the lack of snow the Eternal Team has been staying busy. Let’s see what Fancy has been up to:

Well what can I say; the snowfall in Tahoe has been less than amazing this year. However I have been making the best of it, riding a lot of park and praying for snow. Without a doubt Boreal has the best park around and have been spending a lot of time up there.
Standout Female Fancy RutherfordWe were invited to make an edit in this year’s Boreal Team Video Challenge. We had a blast filming our movie “Laced” up at Boreal, for which I was awarded Standout Female! In the end the overall winner was Jibles and Bits with Eternal teammates, Jake Devine and Brendan Gerard.

Thanks Boreal and Snowboarder Mag for all your hard work!

Photographer, Ben Birk, has been at Boreal capturing the action. You can check some shots out on Transworld Snowboarding, where there is some great shots of Fancy, Jake Devine and Brendan Gerard.

January 7th we all headed up to Sierra at Tahoe for the first stop of this year’s Volcom Peanut Butter and Rail Jam. Even with a lack of snow Sierra still managed to build a sweet course that was challenging and fun. The ladies field was really competitive and all the girls were killing it. The event had a really good vibe! I placed 2nd and will be going to Mammoth in April for the $20,000 finals.
Pray For snow !!!!
